Are there current age restrictions on drinking Kava?

Technically there is no age restriction on drinking kava. In Vanuatu however, traditionally and by custom you are not allowed to drink until you are given permission. Culturally speaking, children drinking kava in Vanuatu would be frowned upon. We can personally attest to our 20+ years of drinking kava, we have never seen children drinking kava in a Nakamal in Vanuatu. Therefore, we will follow in the cultural footsteps of Vanuatu and not recommend it either.
